IOF Helps Out On Saturday

The Foresters have been a part of the Center for over thirty years and the Center is proud to call them friends. The Foresters are an organization that offers you and your family an opportunity to live for today, plan for tomorrow and make a difference along the way. The Foresters provide affordable life insurance and financial products, unique member benefits through scholarships and legal counseling. They also provide inspiring community activities, such as the activities that have helped the Center.

The Independent Order of Foresters – Court Elwood #1245, headed by President Carol Webb came to the Center on the 20th of October with volunteers. To fuel up for the days work they enjoyed some donuts and coffee with our Director’s. Then it was off to work.

One of the projects planned for the day was to include rototilling by the front parking lot where brush had been removed to plant new grass seed, however due to the weather this could not take place. The rototiller is on credit to be used at a later date when weather is more formidable. Other supplies for painting and cleaning were also donated and then used by the Foresters. They moved outside equipment into our barns, they mowed the grass and picked up leaves. On the inside of our Center they were busy painting doors and registers, cleaning and dusting. They moved furniture around to make room for the computers donated by one of our client’s guardians. This provides our individuals a computer station to enjoy games or videos for interactive stimulation.

The Foresters then provided pizza, soda and cookies for lunch which energized all for the task of cleaning up for the day.

There are no words to express the sincere appreciation we have here at the Center for your continued enthusiasm and dedication to our Center over the last thirty some years. We whole heartily say “Thank You!”
