Meet a local chapter of the Ohio Alpha Delta State Group – Delta Lambda

Their mission is to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Their local chapter was formed on April 8, 1972 in Sandusky, Ohio. They meet seven times a year and enjoy dinner and presentations which match their mission statement.

Philanthropic projects with which they are involved are: providing paper products for the Lucy Idol Center, hats, mittens, scarves and other warm clothing for the Crossroads Shelter in Sandusky and a monetary donation for Back to the Wild--a nature rescue center in Castalia.

Their members prepare goody baskets to be raffled off at each meeting. The proceeds go toward a scholarship for a female graduating high school senior who will be attending college in the field of education. They have provided over $30,000 in scholarships for these senior students. Their scholarship is typically $1000.00 per year.

The Clients and Staff of the Center are very grateful to be chosen by the ladies of the Delta Lambda as an organization that they would like to help support. We are also looking forward to the Ladies holding their monthly meeting in the Konik Room at the Lucy Idol Center
